	11 of 26. CRUCIFIX - In the early centuries of Christian art, the Cross represented Christ's triumph over death at Easter. In the thirteenth century the corpus (body of Jesus) on the Cross became common in Christian art. If you look closely at the upper section of the Cross you will notice INRI. These are the abbreviated letters of the Latin "Jesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum" (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews) John 19:19.
